In view of the working conditions of civil servants and the legitimate demands of the collective of unions of prison staff in Côte d’Ivoire, as your leader, I ask for the release of the prison guards who were arrested in the exercise of their constitutional right during the strike of August 18, 2021.
“The right to organize and the right to strike are recognized for workers in the private sector and employees of the public administration”.
– Extract from the Ivorian constitution.
“Trade union freedom is exercised in any company with respect for the rights and freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution, in particular individual freedom of work”
– Extract from the Ivorian labor code.
My beloved Ivorian brothers and sisters, the injustice suffered by the victims today is the injustice that will be suffered by the witnesses who were passive tomorrow.
As the Ivorian people and as civil servants plagued by the mismanagement of public funds, your reaction so that the legitimate demands and the working conditions demanded by the collective of unions of prison staff in Côte d’Ivoire are resolved is essential.
It saddens us all to see that it is the Ivorian Justice Department which has been the ministry involved in this situation since 2014 …
The Ministry of Justice has been under the direction of Mr Sansan KAMBILE for almost 5 years.
The whole world observes “either for good or for bad” and relies on the level of competence of those in charge in order to solve the problems of the Ivorian prison system and to meet all the legitimate demands of the collective of unions of prison staff in Ivory Coast.
A public letter will be sent to the various ministries responsible for this situation very soon if necessary.
