My beloved brothers and sisters, in 2006 Mr. Muhammad Yunus received the Nobel Peace Prize as the founder of the Grameen Bank, an organization with purely humanitarian purposes. It has enabled nearly 10 million beneficiary households to realize all their dreams and projects.
Today this organization has thousands of branches, it serves nearly 100,000 localities and the amount of funds disbursed to help all these homes was around $ 5 billion in 2007 with a reimbursement rate from the population of almost 100%.
The hungry man is not a free man. He has neither the will nor the strength to rise above material contingencies in order to behave as a thinking person.
– Félix Houphouët-Boigny.
And he said: Bring them to me. He made the crowd sit down on the grass, took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks. Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples, who distributed them to the crowd. All ate and were satisfied, and they took up twelve baskets full of the remaining pieces.
– Matthew 14: 18-20
My beloved brothers and sisters, a few months ago I gave you the anecdote of my feeling in view of the suffering of the population after my withdrawal of a sum of money from the bank.
A lot of people have ideas but can’t afford it. Some have the means but they don’t have the ideas.
Others have the means and the ideas but unfortunately they are prevented from acting.
As your leader yesterday seeing the case of Mr Léonid Barry-Battesti, former Secretary General of the FDFP, accused of embezzlement amounting to 10 billion CFA Francs, due to compassion the Lord immediately put in my heart a idea in order to come to the aid of the Ivorian population in the same way as other individuals blessed by the Lord do in other countries.
Through the Quang Luc Vo foundation, an department will be in charge of the microcredit agreement to Ivorian households in need.
In Côte d’Ivoire there is a population of almost 26 million people. If we consider that 12.5 million individuals among these 26 million are members of households in need and that each household is made up of about 5 people.
A loan up to a maximum of 500,000 CFA francs per household would make the dreams and projects of an entire family come true.
The amount needed for this operation would be around 2 billion US dollars, this is only a fraction of the amount disbursed by an organization such as the Graheem bank of Mr. Muhammad Yunus.
The difference between the organization of Mr. Muhammad Yunus and the Quang Luc Vo foundation is that the funds used for the activities of my foundation will come mainly from my personal funds. It is for this reason that the beneficiaries of the micro-credits will be allowed to repay the modest sum between 250 CFA and 1000 CFA per month for 50 years. This is the amount of a simple dish of rice to repay each month after the realization of your dreams …
The extent of the number of homes served will depend on the funds available to the foundation.
The sooner I have the funds, the sooner the problems of the Ivorian population will begin to be resolved.
No to corruption, no to the mismanagement of public funds.
May the Creator bless you and protect you.
